AnnotationThe Mental Capacity Act 2005 brought fully into force on 1st October 2007, safeguards the interests of people who may lack capacity to make decisions for themselves, now or in the future. A lack of capacity could be because of a learning disability, dementia or mental health problems, a brain injury, a stroke or unconsciousness due to an anaesthetic or a sudden accident. This DVD is a documentary depicting three real life stories, and shows how the Act empowers and protects people who may lack the mental capacity to make some decisions for themselves. The DVD is in English, with Welsh subtitles and British Sign language options; performance in public is permitted, but not copying or reproduction. (RH).
