Annotation | Age Concern England (ACE) comments on a Department of Health (DH) consultation which sets out proposals for implementing the new single regulation system for health and social care, as contained in the Health and Social Care Bill. The Care Quality Commission will replace the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI), the Healthcare Commission and the Mental Health Act Commission. ACE particularly criticises the reduced role of regulation that underpins the Bill, and is concerned that social care matters could be given less priority. (RH). |
