Annotation | Assuming that the older consumer has successfully manoeuvred his or her way around the transport system and eventually found a post office to pick up the pension or pay the bills, it is now time to do the weekly shop. The Consumer Council and Age Concern Northern Ireland have conducted qualitative and quantitative research with older consumers (aged 50+) across Northern Ireland regarding difficulties faced when buying food. This article reports on the physical, financial and informational barriers in accessing food. (RH). |
