Annotation | Despite what we take for granted for getting around - road, rail and pavements - the older traveller is often left feeling frustrated by the current transport infrastructure. In this article, a group of researchers from the Institute of Transport Studies, University of Leeds and the Centre for Health Promotion Research, Leeds Metropolitan University explore why this is the case, based on research undertaken through the Leeds Older People's Forum. They look at barriers that prevent older people getting out and about, and the considerations when planning transport for the older traveller. (RH). |
