Annotation | Most generations have regarded debt as a social stigma. However, today's twentysomethings have been seduced by cheap credit and have a "spend today and forget about tomorrow" attitude. Their financial situation is unravelling with the credit crunch. This article reports on two recent surveys highlighting the extent of the problem for an age group that is unlikely to be helped by measures alleviating fuel poverty measures that are aimed at helping older people.
