Annotation | Following the NHS and Community Care Act 1990 (fully implemented in 1993), the National Federation of Housing Associations (NFHA) identified the need for research analysing the scope, scale and nature of housing associations' care and support activities. The research shows housing association responding to needs, adapting to changes, and making a vital contribution to community care. They are in a unique position to provide an integrated service, combining housing and care functions. Their role should be recognised, and specific recommendations are made to do this. (RH). |
