AnnotationThe Tiresias website contains detailed guidelines for the design of accessible information and communication technology systems, offering advice and guidance to designers and engineers to make technology easier to use by people with disabilities and older people. The information that can be found at www.tiresias.org initially started in printed form 30 years ago, and evolved from work carried by Dr Janet Silver, formerly of Moorfields Eye Hospital and Dr John Gill, Chief Scientist of the RNIB. With the support of the Department of Health (DH), this information was made available on the web in 1995. This leaflet outlines the contents of the four Guidelines sections on the website (www.tiresias.org/guidelines) - user groups, application areas, technology, and related aspects - also other information on the Tiresias website.
