Annotation | Most adults with learning disabilities live with their ageing family carers and other members of their family. However little is known about how they feel about this and what their hopes are for the future. The project is a qualitative study of 20 adults with learning disabilities who were asked these questions. Their parents were also given the chance to explore the same areas. This project was undertaken by Wandsworth Rathbone, a South London charity, as part of the GOLD programme. A random sample of 20 from the charity's database of 600 members were taken. This Update is the only one published and describes the project in its entirety. The Looking Forward Project was undertaken as part of the GOLD programme in 2001; see also: Gold Nuggets. (KJ). |
