AnnotationIn November 2007, the main inspectorates published proposals for a new form of local inspection, Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA), which will be concerned with the outcomes delivered by councils working alone or in partnership with others in the public, private and third sectors. CAA is to replace the Comprehensive Performance Assessment (CPA) in April 2009; a more detailed consultation paper is expected in summer 2008. Age Concern England (ACE) responds to the consultation, commenting on area risk assessment, performance indicators and inspection. It queries the concept of an overall CAA score. (RH).
