| Annotation | In 2004, Better Government for Older People (BGOP) and the National Pharmacy Association (NPA), a not-for-profit trade organisation representing community pharmacy contractors, formed a strategic alliance to focus on current government policy for older people. As part of a whole systems approach, this has led to joint working to locate community pharmacy within the well-being agenda. This briefing draws attention to community pharmacies' public health function, for example in educating people on the correct use of their medicines, thereby cutting waste.
