Annotation | Opportunity for All was first published in September 1999 and set out the Department's evidence-based strategy for tackling poverty and social exclusion. It gave the indicators of progress to audit the effectiveness of this strategy and these are then monitored and reported on in each annual report. The 2006 report was two volumes, Strategy and Indicators Documents. The 2007 report was an Indicators Update only, which meant that the indicators nor the strategy were reviewed. Opportunity Age is the Government's strategy for an ageing society. Details of these indicators are available on the DWP website, but such indicators for older people focus on: low income, pensions, healthy life expectancy, living independently; housing standards; and fear of crime. A baseline report including data was published in 2006 (http://www.dwp.gov.uk/opportunity_age/). The Department's website provides access to the full report but summary versions are available in Braille, audiocassette and Welsh, free of charge from: Welfare Reform, Freepost (HA4441), Hayes UB3 1BR.
