AnnotationA series of factsheets which are revised and updated on a regular basis and at least every April. The factsheets cover a wide range of topics which affect older people, including information about community care and benefits; care at home and housing with care; health problems and hospital episodes; choosing and paying for care in a care home; carers' needs; staying independent in your own home; and accessing independent advocacy. Additional factsheets are created in response to the enquiries received through Counsel and Care's advice service. For example, seven factsheets have been added on preparing for death and serious illness in response: Will-writing (no 32); Money and welfare (no 33); Terminal illness - caring and coping (no 34); Funeral planning (no 35); Bereavement - the emotional impact; Practical information for coping with death (no 37); and Organ donation and transplants (no 38). Factsheets can be downloaded from the website or free copies are sent to individuals. Organisations need to purchase factsheets either singly or as a set. (KJ).
