AnnotationThis briefing focuses on issues relating to the identification of people over the age of 60 in the UK who have dual sensory loss in the form of a combined hearing and sight impairment (deafblind). Five key messages are cited which focus on simple interventions that can be effective in improving the quality of life of people with dual sensory impairment. However, a more specialist assessment may be required and the use of the single assessment process as part of this process should be instigated. (KJ/RH).
