Annotation | This paper examines significant changes to the inspection methodology for regulated care services which are being introduced by the Scottish Care Commission (formal title Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care) from April 2008. It examines how the changes aim to promote greater involvement of service users and carers, self-assessment by service providers and the publication of quality grades for services. It examines how such changes will be delivered in a targeted and proportionate way and how they aim to encourage service improvement. (KJ/RH). |
