AnnotationAge Concern England (ACE) responds to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Green Paper (Cm 7130) which consults on the reform of employment and skills support to those most disadvantaged in the labour market. While ACE welcomes the adoption of a more flexible, personalised approach to the New Deal, there is disappointment that it does not give people aged 50+ sufficient attention as a client group. ACE also recommends that an implementation plan be developed, as there is no clear indication on how principles would be applied in practice. ACE suggests ways of ensuring employment - even if only short-term - for people aged over 50. (RH).
