Annotation | The Nutrition Action Plan outlines how nutritional care and hydration can be improved and suggests five key priorities for action in the NHS and social care. This action plan outlines progress on those priorities: raising awareness of the link between nutrition and good health and that malnutrition can be prevented; accessible, appropriate and user-friendly guidance; encouraging national screening, pay particular attention to known vulnerable groups; encouraging provision and access to relevant training; and clarifying standards and strengthening inspection and regulation. Gordon Lishman, Director General of Age Concern, has been asked to chair the Nutrition Action Plan Delivery Board that will ensure delivery of the Action Plan. This plan results from campaigns such as Age Concern's "Hungry to be Heard" and the Royal College of Nursing's (RCN) Nutrition Now.
