AnnotationIn recognition of the need to expand the work that followed publication of "Exploring palliative care for people with dementia" in 2006, the National Council for Palliative Care (NCPC) has been given funding by Lloyds TSB Foundation to implement this new dementia project. "Progress with dementia" has been developed for all those involved in caring for people with dementia. It summarises the key issues in palliative care for people with dementia; describes the development of NCPC's new dementia project (for example, mapping current palliative care provision); and outlines NCPC's early findings. Among developments noted are that the Department of Health (DH) has adapted its guidance on end-of-life care using the "Exploring palliative care" document. (RH).
