AnnotationThis quality of life strategy will have a key role in delivering Standard 8 of the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF), the promotion of health and active life in older age. The aim is to improve and maintain the quality of life of Camden's older citizens by demonstrating how agencies will work together and with older people to promote healthy living activities, sustain people's independence, and promote positive views of ageing. This document introduces the strategy's visions, aim and objectives. An implementation plan details the eight broad objectives for action over a 5-year period. It outlines the monitoring and evaluation work, which is being carried out in partnership with City University and University College London (UCL). Appendices comprise the local and national policy framework; key messages from older people over the years; and a list of partner organisations involved. Camden has produced this strategy in partnership with Camden Primary Care Trust, Age Concern Camden, Camden Healthy Cities, Camden Citizens Advice Bureaux Housebound Service, and African and Caribbean Elders.
