AnnotationThe Joint Committee on Human Rights examine where human rights concerns arise, as with this report on the treatment of older people in healthcare. The Committee's terms of reference called for evidence on how human rights principles could be applied by healthcare providers and inspectorates alike, to ensure that older people are treated with greater dignity and respect when being cared for. This volume comprises evidence submitted to the Committee (March-June 2007) on this subject from organisations including Help the Aged, Age Concern England (ACE), the Residents & Relatives Association, the Healthcare Commission, the Commission for Health and Social Care Inspection (CSCI), the National Institute for Health and Clinical Evidence (NICE), Action on Elder Abuse, the Alzheimer's Society, the British Geriatrics Society, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS), and the Department of Health (DH).
