Annotation | We all take going to the toilet in private for granted: it is a marker of a civilised society. So why in care settings should our expectations change? The author explains about the multi-agency campaign, "Behind Closed Doors", which is being spearheaded by the British Geriatrics Society (BGS) and supported by a number of leading organisations. The aim is to change attitudes and the standards that we will come to expect. (RH). |
