Annotation | This review is based on the literature on mental health in new towns published between 1950 and 2007, and an extensive search of MEDLINE, PsychINFO and sociological databases. It examines relationships between these two concepts, and discusses methodological limitations of the research to date, not least that most of the literature was published in the 1960s and concerned young adults. On the basis of the existing literature and more recent socio-political objectives, areas for future research are proposed. (RH). |
