Annotation | One of a number of articles in this themed section of the Journal have all used the need-driven dementia-compromised behaviour (NDB) model to derive and test interventions for specific behavioural symptoms, or to examine methodological issues concerning the measurement of these symptoms. This study analysed the effect of the systematic use of a behavioural nursing intervention on the mealtime behaviour of nursing home residents with probable Alzheimer's disease. Results show that all cases could sit at the table longer and eat more food during the intervention, whilst body weight for all cases remained stable throughout the study. (KJ/RH). |
