AnnotationThe relationship between risk, responsibility and regulation is rapidly emerging as an important theme of policy development. The Better Regulation Commission (BRC; formerly the Better Regulation Task Force) identifies some key questions about how we perceive, understand and respond to risk through regulation, using case studies to illustrate points. On the basis of examples such as the Sudan 1 food dye, and the Gas Safety Regulations, this report makes recommendations regarding our approaches to risk and risk management.(RH).
