| Annotation | The Housing and Older People Development Group (HOPDEV) was formed in May 2001 as an independent advisory group to help deliver the Government's strategic framework, "Quality and choice for older people's housing". This review covers HOPDEV's activities, work and achievements until Autumn 2005 in four main workstreams: older people's housing strategies; housing and support needs of black and minority ethnic (BME) elders; information and advice; and age discrimination. A questionnaire circulated to members and interested groups is included. The review concludes that HOPDEV has met its objectives, and should be a support resource and sounding board for planning and delivering such a strategy for housing and older people. It also notes HOPDEV's publications and events since October 2005; reports and toolkits are available for download (at http://hopdev.housingcare.org/publications.aspx). RH. |
