AnnotationThe Volunteering Initiative in the Third Age (VITA) is a project funded variously by the Home Office and the Cabinet Office, and co-ordinated by the Women's Royal Voluntary Service (WRVS). VITA's aim is to increase awareness of the value and impact of older volunteers and improve their volunteering experience, by facilitating the sharing of best practice across the voluntary and community sector. This guide aims to address some of the misconceptions and to highlight the benefits of making more use of older volunteers. It presents tips and practical advice to help organisations in attracting, recruiting, motivating and retaining older volunteers. (RH).
