AnnotationThe Healthcare Commission, the CSCI and the Audit Commission have jointly carried out an inspection of the way in which the NHS and Council in the largely rural county of Wiltshire, are working together with their partners to meet the needs of older people and improve their lives. This report is one of a number resulting from local inspections across England. It presents an analysis of the way in which the needs of older people are being met in the Wiltshire, including progress in implementing the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF). The inspection's main focus was on falls services in the county. The inspectors worked with King's College, London to obtain the views of older people and carers, using researchers who are themselves older people, and this report includes their findings. The report is aimed at the public, particularly those who use services for older people in the community. A national report using the findings from these local inspections and other evidence will be published at the end of 2005. (KJ/RH).
