AnnotationThe Coalition was an alliance of some 200 local and national organisations, including Age Concern England, The Alzheimer's Disease Society, Carers National Association, Caring Costs, Disability Alliance, MENCAP, RADAR, SCOPE, The Spinal Injuries Association and others concerned about the effects of discretionary domiciliary and day care charges. This action pack was created as part of the campaigning efforts of the Coalition which spearheaded in a "Challenge the Charge Day" on May 9th 2000. The pack contains a range of materials to make help highlight the issues of charging at both local and national level. Updates dated July and September 2000 are also enclosed. The Coalition is now being coordinated from the London offices of NCIL - National Centre for Independent Living. (KJ).
