Annotation | The Innovation Forum (IF) was set up by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) and the Local Government Association (LGA) in 2003, to pioneer new ways of developing public services. This report on one of its themes, "Reducing hospital admissions for older people", so that they retain their independence in the community and have a better quality of life. The report records the extent to which progress is being made in reducing the number of "emergency bed days" occupied by local residents aged 75+. Nine councils were involved: Kent (the lead council), Cornwall, Cheshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Westminster, West Sussex and Wigan. (RH). |
