Annotation | The aim of this research was to to provide information to inform development of policies and practices aiming to improve the quality of life of older people living in rural Scotland. The scoping study reviews a wide range of material about older people in rural areas, and presents data relating to older people from the Scottish Household Survey and the British Household Panel Survey (BHPS). The report is structured around five quality of life themes: income; housing; accessibility; health and social care; and social and community life. The study was carried out between March and June 2002, and these Research Findings summarise the main report. (RH). |
