AnnotationThe consultation on "Financial capability: the Government's long-term approach" was published by HM Treasury in January 2007. Age Concern England (ACE) suggests that financial capability should be defined to include paying for care, shopping around and managing existing assets, as well as planning ahead for possible lack of capacity, such as by making wills. This response comments that the scope of financial capability should bear in mind the needs of those who have already retired. (RH).
