Annotation | Adult attachment theory has developed from John Bowlby's work on infant development and early relationships between parents and young children, such that the focus has shifted to the study of close relationships across the lifespan. This article considers some of the implications of research findings into relational conflict and couple violence, and suggests links with elder abuse. An outline of the research design to study elder abuse from an attachment perspective is discussed. (RH). |
