AnnotationIn common with other publications on the subject, 'younger people with dementia' here refers to those aged under 65, of whom there are some 18500 in the UK. This briefing paper itemises the needs of younger people with dementia, their families, and professional carers. It outlines the role of clinical psychology across the components of a comprehensive service for younger people, illustrated by examples of good practice based on disguised case studies known to the authors. Further roles for clinical psychology in this area such as teaching, research, advocacy and service user involvement are suggested. (RH).
