Annotation | Housing policies in Spain and the US have important similarities and dissimilarities that affect housing for older people. Spain, even more so than the US, promotes home ownership. Both countries face significant challenges in tackling older people's housing needs, particularly those challenges associated with ageing in place. This paper reviews the broader housing policy frameworks in both countries, in order to understand the policy context for housing older people. The paper identifies lessons from the American experience that can expand housing policies in Spain. (RH). |
