AnnotationIn early 1989, the Social Services Inspectorate (SSI) - Welsh Office undertook an inspection in two counties (Gwynedd and South Glamorgan), to ascertain the methods used to ensure quality of care of older people in independent residential care homes. The inspection also examined the extent of services received by older people before and after admission, and the nature of professional help offered at the point when admission to residential care is being considered. These aspects are outlined in this overview. (RH).
