AnnotationChanges to delivery of NHS dentistry were introduced in April 2006. While national statistics for the first 6 months indicate that the reforms have helped to halt the decline in NHS dentistry, there is little evidence of growth. This report makes recommendations on what more needs to be done to provide a patient-focused service. It particularly argues that additional funding must be targeted at areas where gaps in service are worst, to ensure that patients have equal and reasonable access to NHS dentistry, wherever they live.
