Annotation | The first National Gerontological Social Work Conference (NGSWC) was held in Atlanta, Georgia in 2003, in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). This first of two parts comprises 17 articles resulting from presentations at the Conference. Education is the overarching theme, so that most of the articles relate to developing the social work curriculum. Other articles focus on special populations and issues on ageing such as intergenerational concerns, advocacy, end-of-life care and elder abuse. Together with Part II Journal of Gerontological Social Work, vol 48, nos 3/4), this collection has been co-published as a monograph (same title) by the Haworth Press. (RH). |
