Annotation | With a rapidly ageing population and a growing number of people with disabilities, services are coming under more pressure. The Wanless report "Securing good care for older people" has shown why the comprehensive spending review (CSR) must allow more money for older people's services. The author examines evidence in the Wanless report and in the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) report, "Paying for long-term care", of the need for more money from the CSR for older people's services. He concludes that the alternative is a likelihood of unmet need and low quality provision. (RH). |
