Annotation | Many women experience devastating menopausal symptoms to the extent that quality of life is reduced, and daily tasks become a burden. Other women suffer only minor, manageable symptoms that allow them to lead their life as they always have. While the variety of symptoms seem endless, there are few pathways of treatment. It is noted that the authors have both acted in advisory capacities for pharmaceutical companies that manufacture HRT-related products. Although their review of treatment options does include a degree of caution on use of hormone replacement therapy (HRT), there is less coverage on the other two options discussed, lifestyle changes, and alternative and complementary therapies.
