Annotation | The management of change has become a key imperative for social care managers and a crucial skill. This paper considers the way in which management of social care has developed alongside important shifts in policy direction. It argues that management skills have been somewhat slow to influence social care practice, and identifies some practical applications of models from some of the major management writers. The main message is that although there are no quick fixes, there is much to be learned from experience and a reflective approach to management. (RH). |
