AnnotationQuestions regarding the position of older people in modern Russian society, and family and state responsibility towards them are considered. Forms of social, juridical, economic responsibility that the state has according to Russian legislation have been analysed. This paper demonstrates types of family responsibility for an older person in Russia. The peculiarities of types of responsibility are considered in accordance with Russian society's mental outlook.
