Annotation | The Department for Constitutional Affairs (DCA) has consulted on the fee structure that it plans to introduce for applications to the Court of Protection and the work of the Office of the Public Guardian. The consultation paper looked at fees for: registration of Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney (EPAs and LPAs) and register searches; the Court Reporting Service; fees in respect of the Court of Protection; and fees relating to deputies and their supervision. This summary outlines recommendations from Age Concern England (ACE), particularly that that ACE disagreed with the statement that the 'impact of the fees policy on people because of age will be largely neutral' - given that most of the service users are older people, and few will fall into the exemption and remission scheme.
