AnnotationThe Department for Work and Pensions is undertaking its quinquennial review of the Independent Living Fund (ILF) which was originally set up in 1988 in response to the change from Supplementary Benefit to Income Support. Age Concern England (ACE) summarises its main recommendations to the review. ACE particularly requests that the upper age limits for access to the ILF be removed, and with access to be based on the gross amount of the cost of the care package provided by social services. A full version of this response is available on ACE's website (www.ageconcern.org.uk). (RH).
