AnnotationThis ACO survey is based on their latest Benchmark Survey, which shares the experiences of member charities in supporting their beneficiaries through grant-making, loans, advice and other support. Poverty remains the key driver for benevolent fund help, but ACO member charities also assist where there are other problems or traumatic changes in circumstances. The individual analyses have been undertaken by postgraduate students at the Cass Business School (City University, London). The six papers presented are on specific topics on benevolence, e.g. innovatory ideas and programmes in charitable grant making. (KJ/RH).
