AnnotationThis article focuses mainly on the evaluation of two psycho-educational 'Coping with Forgetfulness' groups for clients with early-stage dementia and their carers set up under the auspices of the Worcestershire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust in 2004-2005. The aim of the groups is to educate group members in ways of coping and in providing sources of social support through contact with others who have similar difficulties. Pre-group and post-group findings are presented. The article concludes by noting increased numbers of client referrals at an earlier stage in their illness, which also enables carers to receive support and advice earlier. (RH).
