AnnotationThis is the fifth in a series of bulletins that focus on particular quality issues in regulated social care services. This bulletin focuses on the performance of regulated care homes against the national minimum standard for the protection of adults and the performance of local authorities in terms of safeguarding training and procedures. The bulletin includes examples of practice drawn from inspections and other information held by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). The main purpose is to ensure that staff and organisations know how to recognise signs of abuse and neglect, and to provide staff training on the procedures to follow in such circumstances. (RH).
