Annotation | The authors have conducted a study of local authority sheltered housing schemes. They write a letter responding to the brief comment by Robert Cowan on Rose Wheeler's research at the University of York concluding that sheltered housing should not be seen as the sole answer to older people's housing needs (Roof, November /December 1984). They challenge her findings that demote sheltered housing and the role of the warden, which they found were much appreciated by the residents. (KJ/RH). |
