AnnotationAge Concern England (ACE) submitted written evidence (of which this is a summary) to the House of Commons' Work and Pensions Select Committee inquiry on the Government's employment strategy. ACE has been reviewing its own policy recommendations for extending working life. Comments to the Select Committee are confined to issues relating to older workers, including: the barriers to employment; the benefits available (and concerns about welfare to work programmes); the need to "age-proof" area based initiatives; and private and public sector delivery of welfare to work services. A full version of the response is available on ACE's website. (RH).
