AnnotationThe Department of Health (DH) consultation referred to was one issued in response to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) Market study on care homes, whereby the government agreed to consider amending regulations aimed at greater price transparency. Age Concern England (ACE) summarises its main recommendations, and comments on the main provision of new regulations due to come into effect on 1 September 2006 in the case of new residents, and on 1 October for residents already in care homes.
