AnnotationThe consultation concerns plans of the General Social Care Council (GSCC) for its rolling programme for registering social care staff. Age Concern England (ACE) supports the need for registration of the social care workforce. However, it argues that clarity is needed about the purpose of registration, given the existence of the Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) list. ACE views domiciliary care workers as the priority for registration, but is concerned that the registration fee could be a disincentive for low paid care workers. A full version of the response is available on ACE's website. (RH).
