Annotation | Do gay men and lesbians perceive the ageing process differently, and if so, how can understanding these differences better prepare educators and practitioners to be of assistance to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (LGBT) clients and the LGBT community? Findings of the study indicate that gay men have more negative views of how gay society views growing older and how they view their own growing older than do lesbian respondents. Gay men were also found to have a greater fear of negative evaluation by others, and give more importance to their own physical attractiveness. (RH). |
